I just shot my k-16 this weekend and I tried a few different ammos. I shot 3/4in groups at 200yrds using black hills 55gr blue box ammo. I also tried federal gold medal match in 69gr and it opened up to a 3in group. I think with the 1:9 twist barrel 55gn is the way to go. If you are hunting whatever will work but for target shooting the blk hills 55's are it. I am parking my bolt guns for a while and using my k-16, I will try 300 and 400yrds and get back to you with the results soon. As far as the rifle goes, I was a little disappointed with the fitting of the upper to the lower. It was so loose that even an accuwedge could not stop the clunking. I wound up using a paper washer from the hardware store to stop it. I look at is a trade off the insanely tight groups for a little rattle is a fair trade for me.

Purchased new in June of 2008. Fit and finish were exceptional. Added Burris FFII 3-9x40, Harris Bpod and Magpul PRS stock. Initial shooting yielded 1" groups at 100 meters with 55gr M183, I switched to 62gr M855 greenies and pulled the grouping down to .75", this is shooting without a rest just utilizing the bpod, I'm sure 1/2" moa is attainable through a good benchrest. Excellent option for a precision AR platform. Trigger could use a polish but that's a minor gripe.
